Lazy Hazy Days of Summer

Life is anything but lazy, hazy, or summery right now. I have a ton of school work, Spencer is a wild woman, and it's cold and rainy. Technically I'm on Thanksgiving break right now, but it doesn't mean much in the real world. I'm also EXHAUSTED, bone weary kinda tired. We spent Sunday night with PGPs and I fell asleep at 8:30pm!

Tomorrow night we're going home to my parents house and spending the night with them. Thursday is Thanksgiving dinner at my aunt's followed by a long nap- hopefully. I don't participate in Black Friday- do ya'll? So that's what's new with me, not much.

Exhaustion

I am so tired today. That 8 hour class really takes it out of me and it takes a few days for me to recover. You'd be surprised how hard it is to sit in a chair for 8 hours- and pay attention and not let your brain wander.

Last night I fell asleep during the VMAs! Of course I managed to watch the highlights today and I guess I missed a lot. I know everyone's talking about how awful Kanye West was to Taylor Swift, but all I could think about was Lady GaGa's wardrobe. Could someone please tell me why she dresses like that? Is there a real reason or is it just to be different?

I also have a prayer request- Spencer's cousin went into labor last night and she's only 27, almost 28 weeks, along. The doctors were able to get the contractions stopped, but her water did break, and right now they're just trying to keep the little one inside for a few more weeks. So please pray for her and husband, they're both wonderful people and very scared right now. Thanks!

Rewind

The rundown:
  • Friday was filled with birthday present shopping, taking care of my parents house while they were in LA and cleaning.
  • Saturday was Lila's 1st birthday party. This would normally not cause me any stress at all, but my ex-boyfriend (Sara's brother) and his new wife were going to be there. I hadn't seen him since before he got married and since before his wife said we were no longer allowed to communicate with each other. Everything turned out fine and it was very undramatic, but I had been worrying about it for so long that the process just zapped me of all my energy when we left the party. It was like the biggest weight being lifted off my shoulders and now I could breathe again.
  • Sunday, Spencer's PGP's came over and planted some trees. Then my aunt took us to the cemetery to visit my Grandpa and Papa for Father's Day and then we went out to eat. (My parents were in Los Angeles for a volleyball tournament with my brother.) Thank goodness my aunt was there, because Spencer was in rare form. She started pitching a fit the second I put her in the booster seat and it got worse when the waiter informed us that they were OUT OF CRAYONS!
None of these things on there own would have been a problem, but everything combined just wore me out. Tomorrow we're going to see Sara and Lila for our weekly get together, which is good, because I'm in some serious need of adult girl time!

I Don't Get It

Not to sound cocky or braggy, but I was blessed with smarts- book smarts that is, NOT street smarts. I'm always the last person to get the joke and I rarely know when people are kidding and that's why I don't like April Fools Day.

Granted, it's gotten a lot better since getting out of high school and college, but I'm still fooled by every joke and every "Gotchya!" Okay, so AFD rant over!

Yesterday we had Spencer's Easter pictures taken. Oh, they were SO cute and they did such a good job with her. Commonwealth Photography has taken her pictures since she was a wee little one and I just love them! Yesterday they had REAL bunnies for the pictures.

Of course Spencer was entertained by these two little scurrying creatures and they got some adorable pictures of the bunnies running away from her as she chased them. Then comes the dreaded part of having to narrow it down to just a few, I hate that part. I can't wait to show ya'll the pictures when we get them back. But just in case you can't wait- here's a few CP posted, check them out when you get a chance!

In other Katie news, I've been ridiculously tired these last few days. I don't know why, I haven't done anything too out of the ordinary. Last night I went to bed at 9pm and I was still exhausted when Spencer woke me up this morning. Maybe I need to take a vitamin or something? I usually avoid them because they do funky things to my stomach, but I'm thinking it's time.
Well I hope everyone is having a great week, especially those of you who are on Spring Break!
