Ready to Meet the Twinsies

My VERY good bloggy friend, Hayley, is having twins tomorrow! She is nervous and little afraid and I know she could use your kind words, thoughts, and prayers right now. So head on over to her blog if you get a chance a drop her a quick line- it always makes you feel better to hear words of encouragement- and I know she needs it right now!

Even in this state she manages to keep her sense of humor!

Protect and Defend

Recently, there have been several stories circling the blogosphere about the need to protect your blog and yourself. Read this post on Lilly's Life and you'll see why it's important. I've been doing a little research on the topic and I've found some really simple, and free, ways to protect and defend your blog.

Watermark your images. You can do this on Photoshop by adding a digimarc or you can do it on Picmarkr for free if you don't have Photoshop.

Digimarc in Photoshop - invisible

Little symbol in top left hand corner, done with Picmarkr

Watch for Plagiarism - You can do this by by using Copyscape, just type in your URL and it will let you know if there's any content out there that matches yours. You can also add a banner to your website that will "protect" in legal terms. Another site that does this is CopyrightSpot

Just Say No - Let your readers know that they don't have permission to use your content. Many people tend to assume that unless otherwise stated, online content is up for grabs. You can write your own little blurb, or put up a button, badge or header. Check out this site for some cute buttons!

It never hurts to take a few extra precautions and it can safe you time and peace of mind. In other news, I will be announcing the winner of the Giveaway tomorrow!

A Cute Spencer Story

My family went to Maggiano's for dinner tonight to celebrate my mom's birthday. Spencer was very good, but towards the end she started to get a little antsy. I got her out of her booster seat and she walked very slowly around the table, saying "Hi [insert family' member's name]!"

About the time she had almost completed her circle, her little eyes spied something interesting. The next thing I hear come out of her mouth is "Hi Baby!" I look to see who she's talking to, and I see a little boy, about five years old, who was the obvious object of Spencer's affection."

The little boy did not seem too pleased to be called a baby, but everyone else thought she meant it like "Hi Baybee" (meaning honey bunny or hot stuff). Which of course led to the "you're going to have to watch this one like a hawk when she gets older" comments.

Of course Spencer just ate up the attention and kept saying "Hi Baby" over and over again, laughing until she got the hiccups. The little boy turned about eight shades of red.

Why Can't You Be Blue Over Me?

If you look closely at Vivi's nose, you might notice that it's blue. Why is her nose blue?

This is why her nose is blue.

She didn't even care when I put her in time out, she was as happy as could be with all of her "boo" everywhere.

See what I mean?

Of course there was the attempted escape, but that didn't go quite like she planned.

Oops, now it's bath time!

Today was just one of those days that never seemed to end, probably because the mess never seemed to end. But after this marker fiasco, I put Spencer to bed. She may not be tired, but I'm exhausted and it some serious need of Katie Time!
